CHELSEA space were very sorry to hear of the death of the influential Austrian artist Franz West following a long illness. He was 65. CHELSEA space Director Donald Smith said ” Franz West was a brilliant and highly original artist, I once hosted a dinner for him in the garden of the Chelsea Arts Club with Ancient and Modern Director Bruce Haines and MOT International Director, Chris Hammond. In person he was as witty and generous as his work, he made a huge contribution to art and he will be greatly missed.
