Bruce McLean 'Pose Work For Plinths I & III from Tate Etc magazine with text by Andrew Wilson

CHELSEA space was delighted to see Andrew Wilson’s piece on Bruce McLean and Nice Style (The World’s First Pose Band) in the Summer 2011 edition of Tate Etc magazine. CHELSEA space exhibited a lot of Bruce’s Nice Style and Pose material as part of Process Progress Project Archive in 2006 and we returned to it with a new installation based on Nice Style’s High Up On A Baroque Palazzo as the opening event for our 5th year anniversary celebrations - Should I Stay Or Should I Go in 2010.

Bruce came down to CHELSEA space the other day and he brought a photograph of an early Pose work to show us

For this particular Pose he had jammed himself in a space between two walls

By Coincidence, artists Juan Cruz and Brian Chalkley were both passing by so there was chance for a quick formal pose but its not like the old days and they couldn’t keep it up for long
